Day 6: At 9am we will depart camp for the Airstrip where we will board a plane for an hour's flight to Malindi Airport to our most favorite destination in Kenya, WATAMU! Watamu means "the sweet ones" in English (and you are about to find out) Watamu is a coastal paradise with turquoise waters and white sandy beaches just as good, if not better than the Maldives! Day 7: We will leave the hotel at 10am on Tuk-Tuk's for the Watamu Snake Farm where we will get to see all the reptiles on display at the farm, watch a venom extraction exercise and be taught on the role that horses play in the development of Snake anti-venom before leaving for Gedi ruins, an ancient Arabic civilisation founded in the 11th Century (built over 200 years before Machu Picchu) and deserted by the 17th century courtesy of the Portuguese landing in nearby Malindi. This tour will be led by our Coastal Region Head Guide Ainsworth who is an expert on East Africa's coastal region. If lucky, we might get to meet the friendly resident monkeys before heading back to the hotel for lunch. After lunch, we will head to the beach to play some beach football before embarking on a sunset dhow ride at 4pm where we will watch the sun set on the Indian Ocean, while enjoying some food, drinks and bonding over stories. You guys will be asking yourselves why you didn't book your trip to Kenya sooner!
