SAFARI AND SHORES KENYA SIGNATURE SAFARI
A journey crafted for women who appreciate both refinement and revelation—where wild horizons meet warm shores, and every day unfolds with intention.
Day One — Arrival, Softly
You touch down at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where a welcoming smile and a seamless airport pickup set the tone. A gentle transfer carries you to your hotel or private residence—perhaps the contemporary elegance of Tribe Hotel or the storied charm of Sarova Stanley.
As evening settles, introductions are made over a welcome briefing—names, laughter, shared anticipation. The night is deliberately unhurried, allowing you to exhale, unpack, and let Africa come to you.
Day Two — Nairobi, Properly Introduced
Your morning brings you eye to eye with wonder—either among the graceful residents of the Giraffe Centre or on safari within the astonishing bounds of Nairobi National Park, where wildlife roams against a modern skyline.
Later, you gather around shared platters of ugali and local delicacies, food designed not merely to nourish, but to connect. Stories flow easily; strangers feel less so.
Day Three — Toward the Great Plains
After breakfast, you journey west toward the legendary Maasai Mara National Reserve—either by scenic road or a short flight for those preferring ease and altitude. Arrival is timed for a leisurely lunch and an afternoon game drive, your first true immersion into Africa’s grand theatre.
Evening descends with quiet majesty, the savannah stretching endlessly beyond your lodge.
Day Four — Above the Mara
Before dawn, you rise. At 4 a.m., with tea warming your hands, a hot-air balloon lifts you gently into the sky. From above, the Mara reveals itself—rivers, herds, and golden light moving as one.
You land to a champagne breakfast in the bush, elegant and celebratory, followed by a relaxed game drive that feels all the richer for having seen the land from the heavens.
Day Five — The Long Look
This day is devoted entirely to the Mara. Unhurried game drives allow you to linger—watching lions at rest, elephants in quiet procession, and the subtle poetry of life on the plains. There is no rush, only presence.
Day Six — To the Coast
Morning carries you back to the skies, trading savannah gold for Indian Ocean blue. You arrive at Kenya’s coast—either the palm-lined calm of Diani or the historical hush of Watamu.
The afternoon is yours: sand beneath your feet, salt in the air, time gently loosening its grip.
Day Seven — History and the Sea
Today blends culture with coastal ease. A morning visit to Fort Jesus (or a similar historic site) offers a glimpse into centuries of Swahili, Arab, and European influence.
Later, you drift across the water on a traditional dhow or slip beneath the surface while snorkelling—quiet communion with the sea. Lunch and dinner celebrate Swahili cuisine, prepared in support of the local economy, rich with spice and story.
Day Eight — Coastal Living
Another day unfolds at a gentler rhythm. You savour fresh seafood at local restaurants, stroll village streets, and let the coast work its quiet magic—sun-warmed afternoons, conversations that wander, laughter carried on ocean breezes.
Day Nine — Nairobi, Unfiltered
You fly back to Nairobi, where the city reveals its deeper layers. A visit to a local boxing club speaks to resilience and discipline; a guided community tour offers insight, dignity, and honest conversation.
Later, you browse for keepsakes at Maasai Market, colours and craftsmanship filling your senses. As the sun dips, you ascend the rooftop of the Kenyatta International Convention Centre, watching the city glow.
Day Ten — Meaningful Farewell
Your final day brings reflection. You learn about Wangari Maathai and the Green Belt Movement—a story of courage, conservation, and women shaping the future.
A joyful nganya ride follows, Nairobi’s most spirited expression of freedom, paired with local beverages and laughter.
And then, with hearts full and perspectives gently shifted, you prepare for departure—carrying Kenya with you, quietly and permanently.
This is not merely a tour. It is a beautifully considered chapter—one that Canadian women read slowly, savour deeply, and remember long after the flight home.
